City Hospice is n-ergy’s Charity of the Year!

n-ergy is delighted to announce that City Hospice has been chosen as its Charity of the Year.

City Hospice provides specialist medical, nursing and end of life care to patients in their own homes in the city of Cardiff. The charity also offers counselling to adults and children, welfare benefits advice and day centres with a range of activities.

[ezcol_1half]n-ergy’s charitable commitment is reviewed annually and after a company-wide vote, a corporate decision was taken to support City Hospice going forward and take on the charity’s Platinum Pledge to raise at least £1k over the next 12 months.[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]

Nicky Piper, City Hospice Corporate Relationships Manager, recently visited n-ergy’s Head office and gave a talk to our employees about the charity and how the monies raised are helping more patients and families across Cardiff with its specialist home-based palliative care. Nicky also talked about some of events that n-ergy could get involved with, including the Annual Raft Race, Golf days and many social events advertised on the charity’s website (www.cityhospice.org.uk).

Trudy Wheeler, Marketing Manager said,

”City Hospice is a fantastic cause and everyone is very excited about supporting our Charity of the Year. We are all keen to raise as much as we can for City Hospice over the coming months and there are lots of ideas in the pipeline to help us meet and exceed the Platinum Pledge fundraising target of £1k.”

In fact, Autumn saw the launch of n-ergy’s employees getting involved with fundraising activities in aid of City Hospice which included n-ergy’s Marketing Manager participating in the inaugural Sparkle Walk at the end of September; and a number of Training Advisors (male!) raised monies through the Movember Challenge over the month of November.

In addition to our monthly corporate donations, the total raised from these activities is anticipated to reach around £600 and will support at least four days of home nursing care for patients with life-limiting illnesses in Cardiff.

Looking ahead to 2020, we are getting involved with a number of fundraising activities, from joining in with a Shop Wars Challenge competition to entering a team into City Hospice’s annual raft race next summer.”
